In conjunction with the ability to produce homogeneous glycotherapeutics GlycoForm has developed expertise in the use of enzymes to further tailor the oligosaccharide structures with additional sugars. Owing to the high selectivity of glycosyltransferases and GlycoForm's carbohydrate synthesis expertise, sugars can be further extended in order to produce the most intricate motifs found in human glycoproteins.

The strategy is exemplified (see figure above) by the extension of a fully synthetic decasaccharide using a galactosyltransferase to add galactose, and a sialyltransferase to add the final sialic acid, thus producing a homogeneous octadecasaccharide.
